Former Social Chain bosses launch new agency working with Myprotein, INEOS Grenadiers and SPORF

A pair of former Social Chain bosses have struck out on their own and launched a new agency in Manchester.

Ben Harris, who used to be business director at the company co-founded by Dragons' Den star Steven Bartlett, has launched End Product alongside former head of creative shop, Calum MacLeod.

The new venture specialises in content strategy and production for brands in the world of sport and it has already attracted clients such as the Rugby Football League, Myprotein, INEOS Grenadiers, eSkootr Championship and global sports publisher, SPORF.

The co-founders spent a combined eight years working in Social Chain’s sports department and delivered campaigns for the likes of PUMA Football, The FA, New Balance, William Hill, and Sky Bet.

Prior to working at Social Chain, Mr Harris led on building media strategies for the likes of IRN-BRU, Rubicon, and Manchester City Football Club.

He said: "We created End Product to tackle outdated models of content creation that don’t align with the pace of sport and social.

"We know that with our blend of in-house strategic and creative know-how and an army of elite creators we can transform the fortunes of some of the sleeping giants in the world of sports. It’s this opportunity that excites us the most."

Writing on LinkedIn, he added: "After nearly three years at Social Chain Agency and nearly 12 years total in the industry, the time has finally come to apply all this experience to build something of my own!

"Between myself and Calum MacLeod, a great friend and now business partner, we have created our very own social-first, sports content agency, End Product.

"I’m incredibly excited to be sharing this journey with Calum. When we started working together in the sports team at Social Chain it was immediately apparent that we both shared the same passion for delivering great work but also both possessed that obsession with ideas and results over processes. It is with this philosophy that we founded End Product.

"I also owe a huge amount of gratitude to both PHD and Social Chain for putting me in the position to take this leap.

"PHD for giving me an incredibly strong grounding in the science and psychology of communications with a planning-led culture and world-class training programme before Social Chain armed me with a totally new perspective on the world of work and entrepreneurial spirit.

"Calum and I have poured blood, sweat and tears into refining and perfecting our proposition and agency model to reflect the current day social media and sporting landscape which is all about creating cost-efficient, highly relevant content but at the pace of sports and social.

"With planning fuelled by yours truly, and Calum leading the charge on creative, we will outsource production entirely to an ever-growing global community of incredibly talented sports creators and producers.

"We’re excited by the opportunity to get incredibly hands-on with briefs giving clients direct access to our wealth of knowledge in sports marketing and social media before outsourcing the delivery of ideas to those with the specific skills and passion to deliver to an incredible standard."

Mr MacLeod added: "This is a game-changing model we know delivers content to an incredibly high standard.

"We’ve spent years investing in building relationships with a largely untapped community of world-class specialist creators and we can’t wait to show the world what we can do."
