Former Seahawks RB Christine Michael to attend XFL summer showcase

After bouncing around four different teams in the past six seasons, including two separate stints with the Seattle Seahawks, running back Christine Michael will once again attempt to resurrect his playing career – this time in the XFL.

The XFL announced on Twitter that Michael, a former second-round pick of the Seahawks, will attend the XFL Dallas summer showcase with the hopes of catching on with the still unnamed Dallas franchise.

Michael was taken No. 62 overall by the Seahawks in 2013. He played just 14 games with Seattle from 2013-2014, instead, warming the bench while Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin handled most of the running duties.

He was eventually traded to Dallas and then bounced between the Redskins and the Colts, with whom he appeared in one game last season.

Now, it looks like Michael is going to try to earn his way back into the league via the XFL. Similar to the AAF, which folded just before the conclusion of their first season, the XFL is an eight-team league that has different rules than the NFL, including shorter play clocks, no kicking extra points, and a unique set of overtime rules.

The season will kick off at the conclusion of the Super Bowl and will give fans another season of football to watch before the NFL draft and training camp take over.

Perhaps fans will get to see Michael reach his potential, something he was never able to do in the NFL.
