Former Seattle Seahawks backup offensive lineman Chad Wheeler has pleaded not guilty to three charges stemming from the domestic violence incident that was alleged to have occurred on Jan 22.
Following disturbing accusations that Wheeler beat his girlfriend to unconsciousness in their Kent apartment, he was charged with felony first-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment domestic violence and resisting arrest.
Wheeler entered his not-guilty pleas on Monday morning at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent during his formal arraignment.
Released initially after his arrest on a $400,000 bond, Wheeler is also now required to remain in Washington State pending resolution of his case and has been fitted with a GPS monitoring device.
Wheeler’s next court appearance, a case-setting hearing, has been scheduled for Feb. 11 at 1:00 p.m. PT. A tentative trial date of April 6 at 9:00 a.m. PT has also been set.
The Seahawks waived Wheeler last week following news of his arrest.
