Former Seattle Seahawks defensive end Bruce Irvin, who spent 2018 with the Oakland Raiders and the Atlanta Falcons, signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers – according to NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
The 31-year-old Irvin was a potential target to reunite with the Seahawks after spending the first four seasons of his career in the Emerald City.
While on the Seahawks, Irvin racked up 143 combined tackles and 22 sacks, making himself an instrumental part of Seattle’s elite Legion of Boom defensive unit that went to back-to-back Super Bowls.
After leaving Seattle, Irvin spent two and a half years in Oakland before getting cut last season and finishing the year going home and joining the Falcons.
Seattle is still in the market for a new defensive end, even after bringing back Frank Clark and Quinton Jefferson. The Seahawks met with free agents Aaron Lynch and Caraun Reid and have showed interested in a handful of NFL draft prospects as well.
