Former Seahawk Jermaine Kearse would love a return to Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks appear to be in the hunt for some wide receiving help, scheduling visits with both free agent Jordy Nelson and draft prospect Parris Campbell. With Doug Baldwin facing a potential third surgery this offseason, Seattle needs some insurance at the position.

A familiar face has expressed interest in returning to his former squad . . .  Jermaine Kearse, who is now an unrestricted free agent.

“Yeah, look, I would love to play back in Seattle,” Kearse said Wednesday in an interview with Sports Radio 950 KJR. “Obviously things have to work out in its own and things have to be right. It would be an opportunity that would be a great opportunity.”

Kearse, a local product, was raised in Lakewood and played for the University of Washington before he signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2012. After five seasons in Seattle, Kearse was traded to the Jets on Sept. 1, 2017.

Now available, could a homecoming be in the works?

“I have not personally talked to John or Pete [Carroll],” Kearse explained. “I know my agent has really close ties with Pete so I’m pretty sure they’ve spoke here and there.”

Carroll and Kearse are repped by the same agent, Gary Uberstine, who should be able to find a way to link the two parties if the interest is truly mutual.
