Former Saints WR Kenny Stills meeting with Bills on free agent visit

There was some thought among fans and observers that the New Orleans Saints could be interested in a reunion with wide receiver Kenny Stills after the Houston Texans granted his release so he could join a Super Bowl contender, but it hasn’t materialized into any action. Instead, the Saints have brought in new additions like Jake Lampman and Jake Kumerow, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Stills could be remaining in the AFC.

Schefter said Wednesday that Stills is making a free agent visit with the Buffalo Bills, where he could possibly team up with breakout quarterback Josh Allen on the projected No. 2 AFC playoff seed.

Stills, 28, averaged a career-low 13.1 yards per catch in 10 games with Houston earlier this year. That rate would rank third-best in New Orleans among players with 10 or more catches, behind tight end Jared Cook (14.0) and wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith (13.2). It would also place third-best in Buffalo among the same qualifiers behind wide receivers Gabriel Davis (14.9) and John Brown (13.3).

While he still needs to pass through the standard COVID-19 protocols before he can sign a contract, Schefter added that there is some momentum behind both sides agreeing to a deal.

Who knows: maybe Stills will get a shot at payback against his old team if both the Saints and the Bills reach Super Bowl LV.
