Former regional UK Border Force HQ to be sold at auction

A former regional headquarters for UK Border Force is being sold off.

Custom House, on Clayton Street in Avonmouth, is to be jointly auctioned by regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson and Bristol property consultancy PC Russell.

The office block, which has been vacant for two months, has been given a guide price of £49,000. It is being sold on leasehold basis and has the remainder of a 75-year lease from December 1980.

According to Clive Emson, the property is expected to appeal to businesses looking for premises as well as investors.

The 0.75-acre site includes numerous open-plan and cellular offices, a top-floor boardroom, showers and secure storage facilities. It also has a car park for around 35 vehicles which is accessed through an electric gate.

Senior auction appraiser David Henwood said: “This is an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire a landmark building in the heart of Avonmouth.

“It is centrally located in a prime position near the train station and Portbury Docks but is also just one mile from junction 18 of the M5 and just over eight miles from Bristol city centre.”

Bidding for the property goes live on Monday, June 14, with the auction ending on Wednesday, June 16.

Clive Emson Auctioneers holds auctions eight times a year and has 119 lots on offer across south England in its next auction.
