Former Redskins OL Spencer Long is back on the market

Spencer Long is a free agent after the New York Jets decided to cut him one season into a four-year deal.

This might be of some interest to the Washington Redskins considering they let Long walk one year ago in large part thanks to promising play from Chase Roullier.

Roullier played great for the Redskins while Long struggled with the Jets, which would explain why New York decided to cut ties after the only guaranteed year of his deal.

For the Redskins, Long might represent a chance to massage a problem at left guard without wasting draft assets or spending big chunks of cap.

Presumably at a cheap cost and still under the age of 30 with a built-in familiarity with the organization already, don’t be surprised if the Redskins get linked to Long quickly.
