Former Redskins coach Mike Shanahan receives game ball from son after victory over Washington

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan made it clear this week that he had no love lost for the Washington Redskins. After serving as the offensive coordinator under his dad, Mike Shanahan, in Washington earlier this decade, Kyle eventually left for greener pastures, and he got a satisfying 9-0 win on Sunday in the rain.

After the game, Shanahan delivered the game ball from the victory to his father, who was fired by the organization back in 2013. When asked about his time in Washington earlier this week, Shanahan said that he enjoyed coaching under his dad, and he enjoyed a lot of the players he worked with. As far as everything else goes, it wasn’t for him.

Shanahan got the last laugh, as he leaves Washington with a win over his former team.
