A former reality TV star has been charged with murder after a man’s body was found in a burning unit in Port Lincoln, South Australia.
Emergency services were called to a home on Flinders Highway around 3:35pm on Thursday after reports of a fire. When officers entered the property, they found the body of a man inside. A neighbour told 9News he tried to put out the fire from inside before emergency crews arrived.

Police arrested a 34-year-old woman at the scene. She is a former reality TV star and police believed she had recently moved in with the man she is accused of killing. Neither the woman nor the deceased man can be named for legal reasons.
The woman was refused bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court via a bedside hearing, as she remains in hospital under a mental health order. She did not apply for bail and will front court again in December.
Neighbours told 7News they were shocked by the incident, describing the accused as “really nice, very pleasant, polite”.
Police have confirmed that the pair knew each other, and South Australia Police Assistant Commissioner Ian Parrott told 9News, “This is not a random incident and we are confident that this is limited to a relationship between the person who has been charged and the person who is deceased.”
Police and forensics teams spent the day at the property, with Parrott explaining, “There are a range of things at the scene that need to be worked through. I can’t comment on the specifics of what’s involved at this stage.”
He also told 7News, “I don’t have any advice in relation to how long the man has been deceased. That will form part of our investigation. I’m not going to comment on the injuries of the deceased.”
Officers are expected to remain at the Port Lincoln property as investigations continue. The accused will return to court later this year.
