Former Real Madrid president makes Paul Pogba transfer admission amid Manchester United speculation

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admits the Spanish club want to sign Paul Pogba, although he admits that money could be an issue.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window as speculation mounts over his future.

Real Madrid are themselves looking to spend big in the coming weeks with the World Cup winning midfielder amongst a whole host of super star names tipped to join Zinedine Zidane's ongoing revival.

However, United have no plans to part company with the 26-year-old and still view Pogba as an integral part of their own plans under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Asked which players he thinks Real Madrid could target in the summer, former club president Calderon dismissed the prospect of signing Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar but admitted Pogba was of interest.

"Neymar is a top player, but I don't see him," Calderon told Sky Sports. "His behaviour in the last teams he has been in I don't think is the best one. He is not the best reference for coming to Real Madrid.

"Pogba? Maybe. Some of the player that Zidane has said he would really like him to come. Now it would be a problem of money.

"Our president has decided to invest ridiculous money in our stadium, because we (already) have a fantastic stadium."
