Former Ravens RB Alex Collins pleads guilty to misdemeanor gun, drug charges

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins can finally begin to put this offseason behind him. Collins pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drug and gun charges, and was sentenced to probation before judgment and a fine of $200, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Collins was arrested in March after police responded to a report that a car had crashed into a tree near the team’s facility in Owings Mills. Collins was initially charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in excess of 10 grams and a handgun in the vehicle. He was subsequently released by the team that same day.

Collins also suffered a broken leg this offseason, requiring surgery. Both the injury and pending court case put a major damper on Collins’ attempt to mount a successful comeback. After an inspiring 2017 season, Collins struggled in 2018 before ending the year on injured reserve.
