Kaare Vedvik claimed on waivers by New York Jets

Kaare Vedvik did not stay unemployed for long. Barely a day after being released by the Minnesota Vikings, Vedvik was claimed on waivers by the New York Jets, who are attempting to find some stability at kicker themselves.

Vedvik had attracted a significant amount of interest around the league last year before suffering a brutal assault that ended his season prematurely. He saw renewed interest after going 4-of-4 on field goals in the first preseason game this year, ultimately being traded to the Vikings. Minnesota had exchanged a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft for Vedvik, tied for the highest-round pick ever traded for a kicker in NFL history.

However, the Vikings released Vedvik at the 53-man roster deadline after he struggled in preseason games. If he succeeds with the Jets, he’ll meet the Ravens again this season when New York visits in Week 15.
