Former Rangers youngster Alex Lowry has joined Motherwell on loan from Wycombe Wanderers.

Lowry, 23, came through the Ibrox club's academy and made 14 first-team appearances.

He scored two senior goals against Hearts and Stirling Albion.

Lowry permanently departed Rangers last summer for Wycombe.

But after just a year with the English League One club, he has returned to Scotland, joining Motherwell on loan for the season.

"It’s great to be back up the road," Lowry said.

"Being a Scottish football fan, everyone knows Motherwell were an outstanding team last year. But having spoken to the manager, it’s already clear he has his own ideas for what he wants the team to look like, and I think even in these early stages, the identity is clear.

"I feel I can add to the already strong squad assembled here and I’m looking forward to kicking on this season."
