Former Rangers striker interests Motherwell but no bids submitted to Partick Thistle

Motherwell are interested in Partick Thistle's Zak Rudden, but no official bid has been submitted by the Steelmen.

The striker has been in fine form for the Championship side this season and has attracted interest following 10 goals in all competitions.

His contract expires in six months and St Johnstone are keen on the forward. Saints boss Callum Davidson watched him in action against Hamilton on Saturday as Rudden netted in the 2-2 draw.

'Well boss Graham Alexander is also interested in the former Rangers striker and reports have circulated that an initial offer has been rejected.

Lanarkshire Live Sport understands that while the Steelmen hold an interest, they haven't made a move for the Partick Thistle forward yet.

Rudden is a product of the Rangers youth academy and had spells with Falkirk and Plymouth Argyle before joining Thistle on a permanent basis in 2020.

Jags boss Ian McCall said of the interest in Rudden after his goal against Accies: "We’ll wait and see what people offer. I’m not stressed about it. Whatever happens is going to happen.”

Motherwell are set to lose top scorer Tony Watt to Dundee United after the striker agreed a pre-contract with the Tannadice side. It remains to be seen whether he leaves this month or in the summer.
