Former Rangers star Rino Gattuso leaves Fiorentina after 23 days following board row

Rino Gattuso has left Fiorentina after just 23 days as manager after a row over transfers.

The former Rangers midfielder only took over as boss in May but it looks like he is already going to be on his way out of the club in the coming days.

It comes after a row over transfers after he was unable to get players in that he wanted, with his agent Jorge Mendes proposing a host of players.

That includes the likes of Valencia's Goncalo Guedes And Porto’s Sergio Oliveira with the Serie A outfit looking for cheaper options.

And it means the former Ibrox star is to leave the club with both sides looking for a way to end the contract.

Fiorentina are set to look towards Frenchman Rudi Garcia after he left Lyon, while former Chelsea and Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri is also in the running.

Gattuso moved to Glasgow in 1997 under Walter Smith but spent just a year at the club before returning to Italy.

He then carved out an incredible career with AC Milan before moving into management.

He’s managed the San Siro outfit, as well as having a two year spell at Napoli before joining Fiorentina in the summer.
