Former Rangers star Lee Wallace sold QPR teammate Niko Hamalainen on Rugby Park move

Kilmarnock's new left-back Niko Hamalainen says that his Queens Park Rangers teammate Lee Wallace sold him on a move to Scotland.

The former Rangers defender played in Scotland since 2004 before joining up with old boss Mark Warburton in London earlier this year.

And the Finnish stopper, who has joined Killie on a season-long loan deal admits that talking to Wallace played a big part in him signing.

He told Killie TV: "I don't know much about Scottish football.

"I spoke to Lee Wallace at QPR and I also know Glen Kamara at Rangers, and he told me that it's quite an aggressive league, but they both said I should be able to do a good job."

Hamalainen made his senior Finnish debut in January as they took on Estonia in a 2-1 defeat in Doha, Qatar.
