Former Rangers flop rips up contract after just two months as club fail to pay wages

Carlos Pena revealed he has ripped up his contract with Club Veracruzano after just two months as they failed to pay his wages.

The former Rangers striker joined Veracruzano from Correcaminos in the summer after they joined the newly-formed Mexican Football League.

But half of the clubs have pulled out after just four rounds of fixtures and the league is on the verge of falling apart.

Veracruzano have not paid Pena or his team-mates and the Ibrox flop confirmed he has opted to walk out on the club.

He told the Daily Record: "I have decided to no longer be a part of the club. I have broken all ties with the Veracruzano club for breach of contract."

Pena's disastrous spell at Rangers was well documented as his contract was mutually terminated and his career has continued to stall since his exit from the Scottish Premiership.

The 30-year-old had a short sint in Poland, before returning to his homeland with Correcaminos.

And he's on the lookout for a new club once again after leaving Veracruzano.
