Former Rangers defender seals permanent return to Clyde

Former Rangers defender Tom Lang has returned to Clyde for the new season after agreeing a permanent switch from Dunfermline Athletic.

The 23-year-old was on loan at the Cumbernauld side last season and has now agreed a transfer to North Lanarkshire after a "mutual compensation arrangement" was agreed by both clubs.

Lang previously played for the club in 2018/19 season, making 29 appearances, and last term played seven times on loan from the Pars. He started his career at Ibrox and has gone on to play for Dumbarton and Stranraer.

Bully Wee boss Danny Lennon told the Clyde FC website: "I'm sure everyone associated with this great club will be delighted with the news that we have signed Tom for another year.

"Over the past couple of seasons, Tom has been an integral part of the success and positive dynamic of the team.

"He has tremendous qualities throughout all aspects of his game and is the epitome of the modern centre half. We look forward to working with him again and achieving positive things together.

"Our desire is to keep moving the club forward and improve our standing in Scottish football.

"Having Tom commit to that cause is another positive step and he will make a vital contribution to the quality of our performances and results in the weeks and months ahead."

Clyde kick-off their competitive season on Saturday when they host Dumbarton in the Betfred Cup.

Meanwhile, the club announced the list of players currently contracted for the 2020-21 campaign.

The list is as follows: Jamie Bain, Barry Cuddihy, Ross Cunningham, David Goodwillie, Jay Henderson, Craig Howie, Josh Jack, Chris Johnston, Mark Lamont, Tom Lang, Ally Love, Martin McNiff, David Mitchell, Lloyd Robertson, Scott Rumsby, Matthew Shiels, Kristoffer Syvertsen and David Wilson.
