Former Rangers defender Ross Perry and East Fife's Daryll Meggatt amongst new Darvel Juniors signings

Darvel Juniors have been working on a complete summer rebuild, and they have signed two players straight from the senior ranks.

Ross Perry has signed from Dumbarton after spells at Albion Rovers and Clyde.

And 29-year-old centre-back Perry brings plenty of experience to Recreation Park, as he was on the books at Rangers for 12 years.

And Darvel have added another former Scottish Premiership player to their ranks in Daryll Meggatt.

Left-back Meggatt has played at Ayr United and was at top-flight Dundee in 2016.

Other signings so far include William Robertson, Keir Knapp, Eddie Ferns, Archie McPherson and Allan McKenzie.

And new gaffer Michael Kennedy is delighted with how the squad is shaping up.

He said: “These signings are showing our ambition, building a team that we believe can compete was our aspirations from the outset.

“It was important that we used our contacts in the game, and that has allowed us to attract the quality that we have.

“The most important thing about bringing the likes of Ross and Daryll straight from the seniors is that they’re in their prime and have came with ambitions.”
