Former Rangers defender Declan John struck by car after Swansea's win over Hull

Former Rangers defender Declan John was hit by a car shortly after his side Swansea beat Hull City in the Championship opener.

The bizarre incident occurred outside the Swans' Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

John wasn't injured in the incident but took to social media to reveal he had been hit on the leg by a silver Citroen.

He Tweeted: "Everyone asking if I got run over at the stadium today after the game, I’m fine the car did hit my leg but managed to get out the way of it!

"Not sure who it was but was driving a silver Citroen."

John was not included in Steve Cooper's squad for the 2-1 victory over Hull.

The 24-year-old Wales international left Rangers for Swansea last August after a year at Ibrox.

He initially joined on a loan deal from Cardiff but Rangers made the move permanent in January 2018 before Steven Gerrard offloaded the player eight months later.
