Former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha in frame for huge managerial return

Former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha is in the frame for huge managerial return according to reports coming out of Central America and Portugal.

The 49-year-old, who lasted only 229 days at Ibrox during his disastrous spell in the dugout, looks set to take over as boss of Mexican top-tier side Tigres UANL, last year's 2019 CONCACAF Champions League finalists.

The Portuguese boss is a well known property in the Mexican game, having previously coached both Santos Laguna and Cruz Azul - with whom he won the Copa MX and Supercopa MX in his time at the club.

Caixinha has been without a job since resigning as Cruz Azul boss in September of last year.

Tigres, based in Nuevo León, have competed in Mexico's top flight for nearly six decades and is one of the country’s most well-supported clubs.

The team counts the likes of France international Andre Pierre Gignac and Chile forward Eduardo Vargas in their side.
