Former Rangers and Nottingham Forest man Barrie McKay secures Swansea City exit

Barrie McKay has re-joined Fleetwood Town on loan from Swansea City.

The Scot failed to force his way into Steve Cooper's last season and signed for the Cod Army in January.

He made 10 appearances for the League One outfit - who reached the play-offs - in the latter half of the previous campaign, scoring two goals.

Having returned to South Wales in the summer, former Rangers man McKay has been training with his Swansea team mates at the club's Fairwood training complex.

But prior to the 2020/21 Championship campaign, the 25-year-old was told he was surplus to requirements.

And he has now returned to Fleetwood on loan for the duration of the season.

His current contract with Swansea expires next summer, meaning, if he sees out the season in the North West of England with Fleetwood, he will not play for the Swans again.

McKay joined Swansea from Nottingham Forest in the 2018 summer transfer window. He has made just 39 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring four goals.
