Kris Boyd, Julie Fleeting MBE and Robbie Fergusson will take centre stage as the sports stars roll into town for a special charity event in April.
And folk attending the Ayrshire Hospice Big Sports Lunch can also expect to be ‘bowled over,’ as ex-England international cricketer, Phil Tufnell, spearheads the stellar cast for the fundraiser.
The line-up will be pitting their sporting wits against each other when they take part in the Hospice’s very own Question of Sport style quiz, hosted by Scottish sports broadcaster, Alison Walker.
Assistant Fundraising Manager, Graeme Strawhorn, said: “We’re very excited to be bringing this fantastic line up, who need little introduction, to The Big Sports Lunch.
“Phil Tufnell was not only a hugely popular team captain on a Question of Sport but also a highly respected International cricketer in the 1990s and we’re thrilled to have him join us at The Big Sports Lunch.
“Julie, Robbie and Kris are shining examples of Ayrshire sporting success and have all represented the country at the highest level. It will be a great afternoon.”
The Big Sports Lunch will feature the guests battling it out in the Ayrshire Hospice Big Sports Quiz as well as taking part in a Q&A session throughout the afternoon of Friday, April 21 in The Park Hotel, Kilmarnock.

Meanwhile, anyone visiting Miller Road in Ayr over the past week may have noticed a trail of Forget me Nots planted outside the buildings of businesses and charities.
Visitors to the Ayrshire Hospice fundraising office, William Duncan & Co, Racecourse Road Medical Group, and the Kylestrome Hotel are displaying the beautiful Forget me Nots just in time for spring.
Lucy Glendinning, Ayrshire Hospice Senior Fundraiser, said: “We have been delighted with the Forget me Nots and how much people have treasured them as a way to remember a loved one.
“We’re excited our neighbours on Miller Road have supported the Hospice by having the flowers in their own gardens and making the Forget me Not Trail, which we all agree looks lovely. We thank them for their kind support.”
The Forget-Me-Nots, handmade in Kirkoswald by Morrell’s Forge Blacksmith, are a lasting tribute to someone special whilst helping the Hospice to provide palliative care to patients and their families across Ayrshire and Arran.
And with Mother’s Day falling on Sunday the 19th of March the hospice is encouraging supporters to remember loved ones by donating to the Forget me Not appeal.
Lucy added: “Since the Forget-Me-Not appeal’s successful launch in 2020, we have raised an incredible £20,581 to go towards the work of the Hospice. The Forget me Nots are a beautiful tribute to a mother, father, and loved one.”
