Former Rangers ace Madjid Bougherra earns impressive managerial role

Former Rangers ace Madjid Bougherra continues to impress as a manager by earning himself an impressive new role.

The 37-year-old French born former Algeria captain has been appointed the new Algerian national side 'A' coach.

Bougherra will coach the national team made up of players who don't play outside of Algeria as he seeks to build a team to challenge for the 2022 African Nations Championship.

A tournament made up exclusively of players from their respective national, which Algeria will host.

The move to the upper echelons of Algerian football comes after Bougherra bossed Emirates side Al-Fujairah - the team Diego Maradona coached prior to his arrival.

Bougherra played over 100 times for the Gers between 2008 and 2011 after signing from English side Charlton Athletic.

While at  Ibrox, the defender was a firm favourite with the Rangers support, winning three Premier League titles, one Scottish Cup and two League Cups.
