Former Raiders RB DeAndre Washington joins rival Chiefs

It’s been a bit since we heard news of any Raiders free agents signing on elsewhere. There had only been three total coming into today with the most recent being tight end Eric Tomlinson who signed on with the Giants.

We’ve got another one, and this one has joined a rival.

Former Raiders fifth round pick DeAndre Washington has signed on with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Terez Paylor of Yahoo Sports.

Washington has 108 carries last season for the Raiders for 387 yards and three touchdowns. The 5-8, 210-pounder has a career 4.0 yards per carry average

The same year Washington was drafted, the Raiders got Jalen Richard as an undrafted free agent. The two shared the backfield their first season, but since then Richard has pulled away establishing himself as a change-of-pace scat back and receiving threat out of the backfield. He was re-signed this offseason while Washington was not.

Other Raiders free agents to sign deals elsewhere include safety Karl Joseph (Browns) and LB Tahir Whitehead (Colts).
