Former Puskas award nominee Stephanie Roche returns for second stint with Peamount United

Ireland international Stephanie Roche has returned to Irish football and re-signed for Peamount United ahead of the new season.

Roche, 30, left the Dublin club in 2014 after her wonder-goal against Wexford Youths in October 2013 saw her nominated for the 2014 Puskas Award.

Peamount United announced today that the Ireland star had signed with the club ahead of the WNL season.

The Dubliner signed for French side ASPTT Albi in summer 2014, but failed to settle in at the French club.

She later had spells with Houston Dash in the United States, Sunderland Ladies in England.

Roche suffered a broken leg in action for Ireland in November 2017, and signed with CF Florentina a year later, but failed to make a significant impact - making just three appearances for the Italian side.

It comes after Roche was left out of Vera Pauw's Ireland squad for upcoming Euro 2021 qualifiers.

Roche's last involvement in Green was a late cameo off the bench in November's draw with Greece.
