Former Primark worker lifts the lid on store secrets including how to nab a discount

If you're from Ireland odds are that taking a trip to Penneys to do some shopping is part of shopping routine

The top retailer which has become a staple of Ireland can see you go in for a pair of socks and leaving spending hundreds on shoes, homewear, make-up, jumpers, tops and a new dress instead.

But now, a former employee has lifted the lid  on the popular budget chains secrets and how you can even snag a discount, RSVP Live reports.

While the store's low prices are what has made it such a firm favourite, it turns out there is a way to save even more money.

TikTok user Rachel Kellie has lifted the lid on her experiences of working at Primark sharing secrets she "probably shouldn’t be telling you", including how you can get 10 per cent discount off of their goodies, reports the Daily Star.

However, the 28-year-old mum explains there is a catch - the item of choice has to have a fault, whether it's a little hole or a stain.

"When you shop in a store and see an item that has a hole in it or a mark, quite often on white clothes which has a foundation mark when people were trying them on" she says.

"Any sort of fault, you can get a discount. The discount is usually 10% off, unless it's really, really bad."

It makes the item non-refundable but customers usually can get some money off, she added.

Rachel continues: "All you have to do is to go over to the cashier and they will call somebody over to discuss the price with you."

She also revealed the best time of the year to nab a bargain is when the store switches over stock, saying: "At the end of July to the beginning of August, they get rid of the summer stock".

"At the end of January to the beginning of February, they get rid of the winter stock."

Since being posted, the video has been viewed more than 300,000 times and liked more than 35,000 likes.
