Former President Carter hospitalized for brain procedure

ATLANTA _ Former President Jimmy Carter, 95, was admitted into Emory University Hospital on Monday for a procedure to relieve pressure on his brain, stemming from his recent falls, the Carter Center said.

The Carter Center released a statement that said the 39th U.S. president's procedure was scheduled for Tuesday morning.

"President Carter is resting comfortably, and his wife, Rosalynn, is with him," the statement continued.
