Former Premier League referee Peter Walton has given his verdict on the penalty decisions which both cost Leeds United and gifted the hosts a goal in the first half vs Fulham.
Robin Koch gave away a penalty in Leeds' 4-3 defeat at Liverpool last week in the first competitive match of his career with the Whites.
And he has done so again in the first half of his second game, this time at Elland Road as the Whites had their early lead wiped away.
Helder Costa opened the scoring for Marcelo Bielsa's but Aleksandar Mitrovic hit back for Fulham from the penalty spot after Koch took out Joe Bryan.
It was a minimal contact from Koch, but former referee Walton believes it was the right decision from the on-field official and VAR, which looked at the incident.
"I think it's a penalty kick," former referee Walton explained on BT Sport. "The VAR shows the angle from behind the line and does he stumble? I think he just gets clipped. I think it's a penalty kick."
BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage added: "It was the speed of Koch getting out to Bryan, the speed of Koch flying into the challenge, I think that's what does it and Peter is right," Savage added.
Patrick Bamford then was apprehended by Bryan in the penalty box as Leeds earned their own penalty just before the break.
"Again, there is a hand on the back of Bamford there. He clearly impedes his progress and it won't be overturned," Walton added.
Mateusz Klich duly tucked away the penalty to give Leeds a 2-1 lead at the break.
