Former Premier League manager urges Liverpool to make late transfer swoop for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha

Ian Holloway believes that Liverpool should be looking at Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha as the Crystal Palace forward looks to find a route away from the club.

The Ivorian winger has been subject of bids from both Arsenal and Merseyside rivals Everton this summer, with the Toffees being  favourites to sign Zaha, with the Gunners instead adding Nicolas Pepe to their ranks recently.

Palace’s star asset is believed to be valued at over £60m, with four years left on his £130k-a-week deal.

Liverpool have made one signing in the summer transfer window, adding Adrian on a free transfer as goalkeeping cover for Alisson.

Outside of that, they will look to the returning Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana to add fresh energy into the squad after both missed large portions of last season due to injury.

The Reds have been linked with signing a versatile forward all summer, with Daniel Sturridge leaving on a free transfer at the end of last summer.

Pepe was heavily linked, although there was never any interest from the Redmen.

However, Holloway believes that Jurgen Klopp’s side could do much worse than target Zaha to bolster their squad.

“If Everton are trying to be in the top six, like they did under Moysey (David Moyes), I’ve been very impressed with their signings,” he told Sky Sports News.

“Don’t worry about the Champions League yet, just go there and they may be outsiders. If I was Liverpool, I’d have a little look at that, why not! What a signing that would be.”
