Luiz Felipe Scolari says Cristiano Ronaldo has got to where he is today through sheer dedication rather than being one of the most talented players.
Completing a sensational return to Manchester United last summer - after 12 years with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Juventus - the 37-year-old has scored 14 goals in 24 games this season.
A man who needs no introduction at Old Trafford and beyond, Ronaldo also has five Ballon d'Ors to add to his ever-growing list of individual and team achievements.
During his first spell at United, there were three Premier League titles and one Champions League in that regard.
However, while the former Brazil coach saw first-hand what Ronaldo can conjure up during his time as the Portugal manager, the 73-year-old has outlined what he thinks makes the United superstar so successful.
During an interview with Mail Online, Scolari said: "He is the most dedicated of them all. The most talented, he might not be. Talent is not one of the first virtues when we think of Ronaldo, but dedication is what makes him who he is.
"It is the first virtue when I think of him."
Scolari added: "He's a goal machine. He's a fantastic guy. I saw him at Sporting in 2003 with great desire and power - and he has even more desire today than he had at the beginning of his career. He is a great person.

"Sometimes we don't see how good a person he is outside of the field. He is very dedicated.
"He prepared himself to be an athlete. Ferguson and his youth coaches were responsible for evolving Cristiano into who he is. It makes me very happy to see him do it at the highest level until this day."
