Former Paul Pogba teammate explains potential role Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has in summer transfer

Paul Pogba is more likely to join Juventus this summer because he wants to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, according to his former France international teammate Bacary Sagna.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba continues to be linked with a move at the end of the season with former club Juventus one of the favourites to sign him.

Last summer Pogba admitted he was looking for a 'new challenge' in his playing career while agent Mino Raiola also insisted the player would like to leave the club.

United are adamant Pogba remains part of their plans under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but that hasn't stopped the transfer gossip columns from regularly linking him with a move.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both also reportedly interested in a move for Pogba, but former Arsenal defender Sagna believes the midfielder is keen to return to Turin.

“I see more Paul returning to Juventus because Cristiano [Ronaldo] is there and because Juventus is the club that made him shine," Sagna told Goal.

“He loves the club, he already knows it.

“It will be tricky for him to go to Madrid now because Madrid are not doing so well and there would be big expectation on him and the Madrid team is getting old.

“Juve have bought some players like Ramsey and Cristiano. OK Cristiano is not young anymore, but he plays like a young boy and they still have a young team.

“If you think about the next two or three years, I think Juve has bigger potential than Madrid.”
