Former Palace defender makes big England prediction about Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Liverpool star

Dean Austin says he feels Aaron Wan-Bissaka is in the best place to continue developing at Crystal Palace, amid interest from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old is attracting interest from several top clubs this summer after a standout campaign for Palace , with Manchester United, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund among the potential suitors for the Eagles' academy product.

But former Palace defender Dean Austin believes Wan-Bissaka would be better off staying in south London this summer, despite the reported interest from several top clubs.

“It is early doors but he is a fantastic prospect and I think you will have a situation where a few clubs will be after him, but I would like to think Palace could keep hold of him for at least another year or two, so that he can develop here with Roy [Hodgson] and Ray [Lewington], who are good coaches.

“I think they are the best people to help him develop, but you never know and money talks."

Wan-Bissaka has not yet played for England at senior level, but has featured for England's U21 side and is expected to be involved at the U21 European Championships this summer.

But Austin says he expects it to only be a matter of time before Wan-Bissaka gets a call-up for the Three Lions' senior squad, as he made a bold prediction about the future of the right-back position for England.

“Without a doubt he [Aaron Wan-Bissaka] is a future England international. England are very fortunate when you look and they have [Kieran] Trippier, who hasn’t had a good year for Spurs, Kyle Walker, who has refined his game with Pep Guardiola, who is evolving all the time.

“Then [Trent] Alexander-Arnold and Wan-Bissaka, they are the future.

“Yes, Walker can probably stay there for now, but those two will be very hot on the heels."
