Former Palace boss risks upsetting Eagles fans with his Wilfried Zaha comments amid Chelsea talk

Ian Holloway believes Wilfried Zaha would be "fantastic" for Chelsea amid continued speculation over the future of the Crystal Palace star.

The Ivory Coast international's future was the subject of much speculation in the summer, amid interest from Arsenal and Everton, although Zaha stayed put in south London despite submitting a transfer request.

But now, with Chelsea's transfer ban being reduced and the Blues now able to sign players in January, Zaha has been strongly linked as a player of interest for Frank Lampard's men.

And former Palace boss Holloway has risked upsetting Eagles fans with his comments on Zaha's future, adding that while he would love him to stay at Selhurst Park, in reality he doesn't see that happening.

Lampard delighted with transfer embargo being lifted

“I think he would be fantastic over there [at Chelsea ]," he told Talksport.

“I don’t want Palace to lose him, but in reality he is going to have to go.

“I would love to see him in that sort of team.

“I don’t want to upset them [Palace fans], but I am only looking and I think he is improving all the time. I see that end product from him, and I just love him.

“He is one of my favourite players ever because I’ve never seen anyone do what he can do.”
