Former Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson is retiring from the NFL after 11 seasons, according to former teammate and current NFL Network analyst James Jones.
The decision ends a career that will eventually place Nelson into the Packers Hall of Fame.
A second-round pick of the Packers in 2008, Nelson caught 550 passes for 7,848 yards and 69 touchdowns over 136 games and 10 seasons in Green Bay. He ranks third in franchise history in catches, fifth in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns. He’s also third in 100-yard receiving games (25).
Nelson won a Super Bowl in 2010 and made the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team in 2014. He also won NFL Comeback Player of the Year and led the league in touchdown catches in 2016.
The Packers released him last March. He played the 2018 season in Oakland, catching 63 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns.
