Former Packers WR Jake Kumerow catches first TD pass with Bills

Jake Kumerow is good for at least one touchdown a year.

The former Green Bay Packers receiver caught his first touchdown pass for the Buffalo Bills during the second quarter of Saturday’s showdown with the Denver Broncos.

The 22-yard touchdown from Josh Allen came on 2nd-and-goal with just under two minutes left, giving the Bills a 21-7 lead before halftime.

Kumerow had one touchdown catch in both 2018 and 2019 for the Packers. He played in 19 games with the Packers, catching 20 passes for 322 yards and two scores.

Kumerow’s catch on Saturday was his first with the Bills.

The Packers released Kumerow in a somewhat surprising move during final cuts before the season, allowing the former UW-Whitewater star to eventually sign with the Bills practice squad. He is playing in his sixth game with the Bills in 2020.

The Packers have had no shortage of touchdown passes without Kumerow this season. Aaron Rodgers has an NFL-high 39, including 23 to wide receivers.
