Former Packers S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix reunites with Mike McCarthy in Dallas

A former first-round pick of the Green Bay Packers is headed to Dallas to play for Mike McCarthy.

Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, a top pick of the Packers in 2014, agreed to sign a deal with McCarthy and the Cowboys, according to his representation, Sports Trust Advisors.

Clinton-Dix spent the better part of five years with McCarthy in Green Bay. Both left the Packers during the 2018 season – Clinton-Dix was traded to Washington at the trade deadline, while McCarthy was let go in early December.

Clinton-Dix’s deal in Dallas is for one year. It’s worth $4.5 million, with $2.5 million guaranteed, per Jane Slater of NFL Network.

Last season, Clinton-Dix played in all 16 games for the Chicago Bears, producing two interceptions, five pass breakups and 78 tackles over 1,067 snaps. He signed in Chicago after spending a half-season with the Redskins.

A Pro Bowler after a 5-interception season in 2016, Clinton-Dix regressed the following two seasons and was traded by Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst to Washington for a fourth-round pick.

In Dallas, Clinton-Dix will help replace Jeff Heath, who started 13 games for the Cowboys last season. He signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.
