Former Packers pass rusher Nick Perry in Seattle for visit

A number of reports surfaced earlier this week indicating former Green Bay Packers pass rusher Nick Perry was heading to Seattle for a visit. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has confirmed Perry is meeting with the Seahawks on Thursday.

Drafted by Green Bay in 2012, Perry spent the last seven seasons with the Packers before he was released on March 12.

The former first-round pick out of USC has battled a number of injuries over the last couple of years, namely to his ankle, shoulder and knee. He finished his 2017 and 2018 campaigns on the injured reserve.

When healthy, Perry could offer the Seahawks the pass-rush help they crave and coach Pete Carroll is more than familiar with the ex-Trojan, having coached him at the collegiate level.

Because he was released prior to the start of the new league year, Seattle could sign Perry without sacrificing a potential compensatory pick for a free agent gained.
