Former Packers LB Clay Matthews signs with Rams

The Los Angeles Rams have signed former Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.

Mathews revealed the decision to sign with the Rams in a post on Twitter Tuesday night.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed the signing. It’s a two-year deal for Matthews in Los Angeles.

Matthews, a first-round pick of Ted Thompson in 2009, is the Packers’ all-time leader in sacks with 83.5.

He played 10 seasons in Green Bay, making six Pro Bowls and winning the Super Bowl in 2010.

The Packers weren’t expected to bring Matthews back after signing Za’Darius and Preston Smith in free agency.

Matthews is a native of Los Angeles. He went to school at USC.
