Former Ohio State wrestler Kyle Snyder decides to train at Penn State

Former all-everything Ohio State wrestler Kyle Snyder has made the tough decision to train at the biggest rival for the Buckeyes in wrestling, Penn State.

Some may see the move as a slap in the face of an Ohio State wrestling program that provided Snyder with the opportunity to make a name for himself, but at some point, you have to make the tough decisions to continue to get better. Getting a different perspective and additional teaching to add to what one place has already provided is often a good move, especially when you are competing at the highest of levels.

Synder has been up and down lately. He won gold at the Yasar Dogu international competition in Istanbul earlier this year, but fell short of even making the Gold Medal match in the Worlds in late September. He rebounded to win the Bronze, but that’s not the level at which we’re used to seeing the former All-American compete.

Captain America is now looking for that little extra to get him back at the top, and according to a statement he released through his Twitter feed, he believes Penn State provides that opportunity. You can read his entire statement below.
