Former Ohio State women’s soccer player Nichelle Prince scores goal in Team Canada’s 2-0 win

It’s great to see former Ohio State players performing on the big stage. And if you’re a women’s soccer player, the stage doesn’t get any bigger than the World Cup.

One former lady Buckeye is representing one of the countries in the every four-year event, and she had a moment that she’ll remember for the rest of her life on Saturday. Nichelle Prince played for Ohio State from 2013-16 and is now a member of Team Canada’s squad along with another former Buckeye Lindsey Agnew.

Prince had a hand in the first goal on an assist to Jessie Fleming early in the second half, then got on the score sheet herself on a rebound put back off of a  missed header by Christine Sinclair. You can watch the goal below.

The win advanced Team Canada into the round of sixteen where she’ll get more opportunities to represent Ohio State and all the Canadians cheering on their team, eh?

Team Canada will next be in action against The Netherlands on Thursday.
