The Ohio State Buckeyes saw numerous offensive juggernauts drafted in 2019. One of those was third-year starting running back Mike Weber, who found his way to Dallas as a seventh round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Weber, who missed just three games during his three full seasons with the Buckeyes, went down with a knee injury during Cowboys rookie minicamp.
However, the injury isn’t considered severe, and it shouldn’t hamper Weber’s chances to inch up the Cowboys’ depth chart.
Per ESPN’s Todd Archer, Weber will not have to go undergo knee surgery but didn’t rule out the possibility of a scope if the injury doesn’t improve.
The 2016 Big Ten Freshman of the Year rushed for a total of 24 touchdowns throughout his three seasons, and notched 1,000 yards from scrimmage in two of his three collegiate seasons.
Now it appears as though he may have dodged a bullet and will still be in the mix for winning the backup job to another former Buckeye, Ezekiel Elliott. We’ll stay on top of this if any further developments occur.
