Former Ohio State point guard Mike Conley traded to Utah Jazz

Former Ohio State point guard Mike Conley is on the move according to multiple sources and reports.

ESPN was the first to break news of the trade involving his move to the Utah Jazz in return for Grayson Allen, Kyle Korver, Jae Crowder, two future draft picks, and apparently the kitchen sink and all the plumbing.

Conley, who played one season in Columbus under Thad Matta during the 2006-07 season, began to catapult up the draft boards after a phenomenal post-season that saw him help lead Ohio State to the national title game in 2007.

He was drafted by the Grizzlies with the fourth overall pick in the 2007 draft and spent all of his twelve seasons with the organization. However, as the 2019 draft nears, there is speculation that Memphis will select Ja Morant from Murray State, thus making Conley expendable.

During his time with the Grizzlies, Conley averaged 14.9 points and 5.7 assists per game. Like fine wine though, he seems to have gotten better with age. He averaged 21.1 points per contest last season. The Jazz are clearly not getting a guy that is washed up and immediately on the decline.

The trade is not yet official, but should be on or before July 6 when all the trades and signings are made known by the NBA.
