Former Ohio State players Johnnie Dixon, Malcolm Pridgeon and Demetrius Knox sign undrafted free agent deals

The 2019 NFL Draft may be in the books, but not all the players that get a chance to prove themselves go during the seven rounds. There’s many more that get signed as undrafted free agents. Three of those players hoping to have their names called for the Buckeyes did so through the free agent route.

Johnnie Dixon got a deal done with the Houston Texans. He was thought to have a chance at going at the tail-end of the draft, but that didn’t happen.

In addition to Dixon, offensive guard Malcolm Pridgeon also signed on with the Texans according to his Twitter feed.

And lastly, Demetrius Knox confirmed a signing with the Seattle Seahawks on his Twitter account as well.

Generally, an undrafted free agent has long odds at making a splash on the roster for game days, but they often find their way on the practice squad and can show what they can do in preparation for game weeks.

Again, it’ll be an uphill battle for all of these guys, but at least they get a shot. Good luck to the three of them.
