Former Ohio State OL Michael Jordan named starter for Cincinnati Bengals

Former Ohio State center/guard Michael Jordan has won a starting spot with the Cincinnati Bengals. Jordan was an All-Big Ten performer and named as a First Team All-American by SI.com and CBS Sports in 2018.

He played two seasons at the guard position in Columbus before moving to center last year for the benefit of the team. At 6-7, 312 lbs., Jordan is a tall for a center, and was always thought to transition to a guard or tackle position better at the next level.

The Bengals, seeing the potential, drafted Jordan in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft as the No. 136 overall selection. Now, according to information from team reporter Marisa Contipelli, Jordan has elbowed his way into the starting five on the offensive line for game one against the Seattle Seahawks on September 8.

It’s probably a bit of a surprise that Jordan found his way into the starting lineup, but it speaks volumes for his abilities and work ethic as a rookie trying to make a name for himself.
