Former Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa inks deal with San Francisco 49ers

The wait is over. The lone Ohio State holdout from the 2019 NFL Draft has finally signed his rookie deal. Former Mr. Everything defensive-end Nick Bosa was taken by the San Francisco 49ers second overall in the draft, but had been holding out since, all while a slew of other players inked their deals.

According to Adam Schefter, the deal is reportedly a four-year $33.55 Million dollar contract. It looked for all the world that the holdout would go into training camp, but the deal got done just one day prior. Had the two sides been able to come to terms, Bosa wouldn’t have been able to participate in training camp, putting him behind the eight-ball in terms of getting up to speed and ready to go for the season.

Bosa was represented by the same agency, CAA, that orchestrated the holdout of his brother Joey during his rookie contract negotiations with the Chargers. That one extended all the way into August.

In the end, it’s a deal I’m sure both sides are glad got done. Now it’s time to hit the ground running and go all out in preparation for the season.
