Former Ohio State and current 49ers DE Nick Bosa named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Former Ohio State and current San Francisco defensive end Nick Bosa has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after a terrific Week 5 performance against the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football.

He was a huge part of the 49ers route of the Browns, crushing the Mayfield-led team 31-3. And in so doing, performing his own mock flag-planting at the expense of one Baker Mayfield.

Bosa seemed like he spent all night harassing the Cleveland quarterback. He didn’t just sack him twice, force a fumble and recover a fumble, but he also recorded a career-high five quarterback hits to go along with his four solo tackles. It was by far the best performance of Bosa’s very young NFL career.

Let’s just say this type of defensive dominance isn’t something the Niners are used to.

Here’s a link to the official release made by the 49ers.

Don’t be surprised if we see more from the former Ohio State star as his career continues to progress.
