Former Notts County manager hails new owners as 'brilliant'

Former Notts County manager Ian McParland has been impressed with the club’s new owners and believes their quiet approach can help the club “take off”.

Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz bought the club at the end of July from previous owner Alan Hardy and immediately settled the Magpies’ debts following months of financial uncertainty.

Since then they’ve backed Neal Ardley in the transfer market with club legend Les Bradd insisting the togetherness off the pitch is the best he has known since the 1970s.

McParland, who played for the club for nine years and managed them from 2007 to 2009, says the way they are handling affairs  at Meadow Lane has been excellent.

“These new owners have come in and been brilliant,” said McParland, who was speaking on the Notts TV show Team Talk.

“They’re sitting behind the scenes and not shouting from the rooftops ‘I am going to do this or that’.

“They’re leaving all the people to do their jobs, observing it and see what happens. That’s fantastic.

“A club run that way can take off.”
