Former Nottingham Forest target Tyrone Mings to join Aston Villa for an incredible fee

Aston Villa are reportedly set to sign recent Nottingham Forest target Tyrone Mings for a massive fee.

The Reds were keen to sign Mings on loan from Bournemouth in January and agreed a fee of around £1m to bring him to the City Ground until the end of the season.

However, the left-back/central defender chose to go to Villa and played a crucial role in taking them to the Premier League.

Now Dean Smith's side are ready to pay a huge sum for the 26-year-old, with the Mirror reporting they will hand over £26.5m, although a figure of £20m has been quoted elsewhere.

While Mings was brilliant for Villa, he has only played 23 times Bournemouth, largely due to injury, and they will be delighted to make a huge profit on a player who cost £8m from Ipswich in 2015.
